Tormenta d’amore : A Night in Venice

Audiences are invited to imagine themselves amidst the cathedrals and canals of Venice, enveloped in the music of its native sons, Claudio Monteverdi and Antonio Vivaldi. The music explores the themes of love and betrayal. These selections represent a wide range of emotions and perspectives on love, from the joyful to the despairing, the serene to the turbulent. Each piece offers a glimpse into the timeless nature of love, reflecting the many ways it has been experienced and expressed throughout history.

Compline Service with Schola Cantorum

Compline is performed by Schola Cantorum and directed by Stephen Kennedy, Director of Music and Organist of Christ Church Rochester In 1997, he founded the Christ Church Schola Cantorum to perform the Office of Compline each Sunday at Christ Church.

This acclaimed ensemble of voices and Renaissance instruments specializes in the performance of Plainsong, motets of the Renaissance and Romantic eras, as well as contemporary music and improvisation.

Early Music for the Lute Family

First Universalist Church

Pedro Teorba and friends present repertory for a few instruments from the lute family by underrepresented Latin-American baroque composers alongside European renaissance canonical works for lute.

This concert is present in conjunction with the Rochester Early Music Festival.
