Ad Hoc Music's next adventure will be a performance of the charming and witty “Coffee Cantata” by Johann Sebastian Bach, along with Bach's lively Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 and a set of Renaissance dances. The concert will be a one hour, free program, followed by a reception.
The Coffee Cantata is the comic story of a young woman who loves drinking coffee and manages to outwit her father's plan to give up her favorite caffeinated treat, including the line, “If I couldn't, three times a day, be allowed to drink my little cup of coffee, in my anguish I will turn into a shriveled-up roast goat.”
The Coffee Connection provides employment training and job creation for women in recovery from addiction and as a not-for-profit business sells fair trade, organic coffee to retail and wholesale customers.
